Donald Houwer

I was born in 1978 in Munich, Germany. I moved to Berlin,

after school and civil service, started philosophy studies

and worked in different film productions.

Since 2002 I am studying directing at the dffb (German film

and television academy Berlin).

Until now I directed six short fiction movies and one

documentary.

Two of my films have been awarded with the predicate of

outstanding value of the German evaluation office in 2005

and 2008.

Since the 4th of January 2007 I am the lucky father of my

daughter Mea Anna.

And in 2008 I started the environmental Film initiative

Green Me with my Partner Nic Niemann and the NABU Berlin

(nature protection foundation).

Since than Green Me is represented with a lounge at every

Berlinale and announces during the 59. Berlinale the Green

Me Story Script award, granted for the best social and

ecological Film treatment to develop the screenplay.
